This application is only meant to work on HP printers, mostly LaserJet although it has been known to occasionally work on some other brands of printers including Kyocera.
Unlike any other app on the play store you have the ability to change the regular display message as well as display an error message, although be forewarned an error message will stop the printer from being able to print until someone clicks OK on the printer itself. An error message will also disappear when the person presses OK.

If you run into any problems restarting the printer should always clear any messages.
